The Golden Globes 2026: The Mehs

If you’re new here, sometimes I don’t love or hate an outfit, I find it just “meh”. Here are the looks that didn't inspire me to love or strongly dislike!

Golden Globes Fashion Awards

Ayo Edebiri in Chanel

While many people debate whether The Bear is a comedy, I’m wondering why its most recent season even got nominated. It was…fine. I do LOVE Ayo but this look is hard to understand, and I don’t love her little bob. She seems too cool for this Chanel and I can’t explain what that means, it’s just the vibe!

Pamela Anderson in Ferragamo

At first, when she was on stage, I thought this look was cool. All white, crisp, breezy. But it’s ill-fitting, wrinkled and just not doing much for such a bombshell. A real take it or leave it.

Eva Victor in Loewe

When Johnathan Anderson departed Loewe, I must admit, I was bummed. He did so much for the brand! I was SORT OF hopeful when they brought in Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez (of Proenza Schouler fame). All to say, I want to like this, I like her (editor’s note- she is nonbinary but utilizes both she/her and they/them) but the angles around her midsection confuse me! Sorry! PS she's also very good in Billions, a show that I promise to finish one day!

Emily Blunt in Louis Vuitton

Does it need to be caped on both sides? I’m not sure why I can’t love this, but I also can’t hate it, so here we are. But props to GORGE glam! Also, I’m sorry, I LOVE John Krasinski. But if it’s my night, I’m nominated- not time for you to steal attention cosplaying as a 1960s college professor.

Julia Roberts in Armani Privé

If you showed me this picture with no other context and asked me what year it was from, would not be able to tell you. I wish some stars didn’t get lazy about their fashion as they got older. I get that it’s the Golden Globes…which isn’t like a REAL awards show (it’s journalists from random countries) and she knew she was unlikely to win. But you were also presenting! You got a standing O! HAVE FUN WITH FASHION!

Mia Goth in Dior

I did NOT see this on the red carpet, so when I was reviewing photos, it kind of jump scared me! And I did a face like this 🤨. (But PS her face card is undeniably good) I really can’t wrap my head around this? It’s the bust area, I think. It’s confusing me!!!! I might not be well versed enough in fashion to truly appreciate it, and that’s why I don’t work at Vogue! UPDATE: I realized why I struggle with it. It looks like one of those things you put over your head to breastfeed in public (niche mom content).

Parker Posey in Rodarte

You may expect this to be worst dressed; however, I respect Parker’s style and I absolutely know Rodarte’s aesthetic is not for the run of the mill fashion observer. Therefore, I appreciate what they tried. I think it’s the color that’s throwing me… it’s not my fave, guys.

Odessa A’zion in vintage Dolce & Gabbana

This is pants! I didn’t realize. And is one leg wider than the other? Neither here nor there, but she is a sneaky nepo baby- she’s Pamela Aldon’s daughter. I’m just here to educate!!! Anyway, not feeling the vibes of this one in either direction.

Kristen Bell in Armani

I get it, but I also don’t. Some might say, “well that doesn’t make sense, Maura” but it kind of does. Like the skirt is a very cool illusion and maybe would have been too much if it was the ENTIRE dress…but the sequin isn’t connecting to me? But maybe it’s because it’s all an illusion? Now my head hurts. She looks perfectly ok.

Maya Rudolph in Chanel

She may have made best had it not been for those shoes. They are not for me! I love the bright necklace (jade?) And the shimmer of the dress. She is fantastic in Loot and it’s disappointing she wasn’t nominated. And if you didn’t know, she was there with her husband, Paul Thomas Anderson, who won for like everything for One Battle After Another.

Brittany Snow in Danielle Frankel

I really want to like this, but the silhouette is throwing me. It’s so stiff and enlarged. But her glam is just so good – top notch. And we will discuss The Hunting Wives at some point…
