WHERE DO I START?

It's going to have to be Nepo Baby #1 and Nepo Baby #2 going after Brand Beckham.

For those who need a little recap: Brooklyn Beckham (son of superstar soccer player, David, and superstar 90s icon, Victoria, aka Posh) married Nicola Peltz (actress (??)and daughter of a billionaire) in 2022 when he was 23 and she was 27. Prior to their wedding, Nicola was in some movies/Bates Motel and Brookyn was working on being a chef influencer but also a photographer and this photo he actually published in a book is so funny and epitomizes nepo babies perfectly:

Needless to say, they have not done much since except be in a bitter feud with Brooklyn's parents and two brothers (I'm going to hope he does some reflection on what this all means for his sister, Harper Seven, who is only 14).

The rumors have been endless:

- Nicola and her billions are controlling Brooklyn

- Nicola didn't ask Victoria to make her wedding dress

- Victoria stole a romantic dance set to a live performance by Marc Anthony away from Nicola- sending her off in tears

- Nicola and Brooklyn didn't support Beckhams with their respective Netflix shows nor did they support David at his 50th birthday celebrations

- Nicola and Brooklyn blocked the Beckhams on social media

- Victoria and the other brothers were bringing around Brookyln's exes (this is hilarious because he got with Nicola when he was 21...so how many deep relationships did they have to tap into????)

WELL, with all the gossip out there, Brooklyn came out swinging with a multi-story, semi-poorly written diatribe on Instagram about the "truth". Which is:

- his family is the controlling side and only care about their brand and image

- Victoria backed out of making Nicola's dress last minute, forcing her to scramble

- the bit about the stolen dance with added color that Victoria was very inappropriate on the dance floor

- Bringing girls around to make Brooklyn/Nicola uncomfortable

- banning Brooklyn and Nicola to a hotel for a week before letting them in on David's 50th bday celebrations

- tried to get Brooklyn to sign his name away (???) before the wedding and told him that Nicola would never be blood family

- Beckham media machine has been putting out false stories to damage Nicola

- Victoria wouldn't post about displaced pets after the CA fires

So here are my thoughts on it all:

- The dance thing is probably true which is very weird!!!!! I'd be mad, too!

- But that negates the narrative that it's only Beckham's releasing stories to the press because I've heard about that and it clearly did not come from Camp Posh!

- The dress thing is tough because I heard that Nicola rejected a VB original...which if Brooklyn's declaration is true, how did she get a custom Valentino so quick which PS RIP VALENTINO, lost in the day's news!

- Bringing girls around...again, this kid got married very young so who are we bringing out? Not Chloe Grace Moretz - she left that relationship and married a woman!

- David's birthday- while I believe there is some truth there because this is when all the drama was going down, why are you two - heirs to fortunes- allowing yourself to be banished to a hotel?

- The pet thing is weird and why wouldn't Victoria just do it? But also they are all so controlled by PR machines?

- The name thing- again, I bet some truth there because Brooklyn and Nicola added EACH OTHER'S names aka Brooklyn Peltz Beckham - and sorry, branding and branding dollars are tied to names as big as Beckham! (Not Peltz, sorry Nicola and your Tranformer movie credit)

- Comments about her not being blood or family- not fair. It's a hard pill to swallow, but wife trumps parents! And I say that as someone who has THE most delightful MIL!!!

- The controlling family...recent developments have seen The Peltz/Beckhams block all Beckham family members, post INCESSANTLY with HER family, and now this VERY public admonishment to Brooklyn's own parents and brothers (again, let's leave Harper 7 out of it!) - feels like one family is calling the shots currently, and hard to say if it is Beckhams!

- Nicola's parents do not have a solid reputation of being great people (they replaced their wedding planners last minute and then fired them 9 days later with insane requests being unmet THEN SUED the wedding planners - and that's just one example!)

- Justin Anderson- hilarious celebrity hairstylist- claimed Nicola is HORRIBLE

- Rumors has Nicola has no female friends - red flag.

So all of that to say- I'm sure there's truth on all sides and this has clearly gone insanely far - but I feel like it's none of our business what these very rich and powerful people do?? I know that this post will very much set everything way back. How do the Beckhams even respond? And I wish Nicola and Brooklyn would just go be happy and maybe consider actually working? PS this is all going to be so very sad when Nicola and Brooklyn inevitably split. I SAID WHAT I SAID! But we thank them all for their service (bringing us insanity on MLK Day.

And friendly reminder on this day: Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

I think we can all agree THANK GOODNESS FOR THIS ONE! I want Amanda to prosper and follow her dreams and get her little house in the suburbs with a family. Kyle can go man child around NYC on his own.

I want to give a shout out to my BOTG team: LB and Rucks. LB took one for the team and watched this show and gave us the feedback it was unnecessary for us to also watch. Therefore it seems like this one was inevitable. We will probably do a deep dive into these two, as I have THOUGHTS.
